Rear Window Wiper Motor (G424861)

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Removal
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to: Specifications (414-00 Battery and Charging System - General Information, Specifications).
  2. Remove the rear window wiper arm. For additional information, refer to: Rear Wiper Pivot Arm (501-16 Wipers and Washers, Removal and Installation).

    Remove the liftgate glass wiper motor trim panel.
      • Carefully release the 4 clips.

    Remove the trim panel retaining plate.
      • Remove the 3 nuts.

    Remove the rear window wiper motor.
      • Disconnect the electrical connector.
      • Remove the 3 nuts.
  6. NOTE:

    Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

    Remove the rear wiper drive spindle seal.

    Remove the 3 rubber insulators.
      • Remove the metal inserts.
Installation
  1. Install the rubber insulators.
  2. Install the rear wiper drive spindle seal.
      • Clean the component mating faces.
  3. Install the rear window wiper motor.
      • Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (7 lb.ft).
      • Connect and secure the electrical connector.
  4. Install the trim panel retaining plate.
      • Tighten the nuts to 6 Nm (4 lb.ft).
  5. Install the liftgate glass wiper motor trim panel.
      • Carefully secure the clips.
  6. Install the rear wiper arm. For additional information, refer to: Rear Wiper Pivot Arm (501-16 Wipers and Washers, Removal and Installation).
  7. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to: Specifications (414-00 Battery and Charging System - General Information, Specifications).
