Removal
NOTE:

The outboard joint on the front shaft is a non serviceable design. As a result to change the CV joint boot the boot must be fitted from the inboard end.


  1. WARNING:

    Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.
    Refer to: Jacking (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  2. Remove the inner CV joint boot
    Refer to: Inner Constant Velocity Joint Boot (205-04 Front Drive Halfshafts, Removal and Installation).
  3. NOTE:

    Discard the CV joint boot and retaining clips.

Installation
  1. CAUTIONS:

    • Apply grease of the correct specification.

    • Make sure that a new component is installed.

    • Clean and inspect the components for deterioration.

    Clean and inspect the components for deterioration. Pack the outer CV joint with the grease supplied
    Renew Part: Inner and outer constant velocity joint boot kit Quantity: 1.
  2. NOTE:

    Make sure that the outer CV joint boot is correctly installed.

    Make sure that the retaining clips are correctly installed.

    Using a suitable special tool install the new retaining clips.

  4. Install the inner CV joint boot.
