Removal
  1. WARNING:

    Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Drain the differential lubricant.
    Refer to: Differential Draining and Filling (205-02 Rear Drive Axle/Differential, General Procedures).
  3. E53183
    Disconnect the electrical connector. Release the wiring harness retaining clip.
  4. E53184
    Remove the oil temperature sensor. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
Installation
  1. Clean the component mating faces.
  2. Install the oil temperature sensor.
    Renew Part: Rear axle oil temperature sensor Quantity: 1.
    Torque: 22Nm
  3. Connect the electrical connector. Secure the wiring harness clip.
  4. Fill the differential with the correct amount of lubricant.
