WARNING:
Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the front wheel.
- Loosen the outer tie-rod end ball joint retaining nut.
- Loosen the outer tie-rod end lock nut.

Remove and discard the tie rod end retaining nut. Using the special tool, release the tie-rod end ball joint from the wheel knuckle.

Remove the outer tie-rod end, note the number of turns for installation.
- Remove the outer tie-rod end
lock nut.

Remove and discard the tie straps. Remove the steering gear boot.

Loosen the nut. Remove the inner tie-rod end.
- Install the inner tie-rod end. Tighten the nut.
Torque: 100Nm
- Install the steering gear boot. Install new tie straps.
- Install the outer tie-rod end lock nut.
- Install the tie rod end, note the
number of turns until adjacent to the locknut.

CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the tie rods, use an additional wrench when loosening or tightening the components.
NOTE:
Clean the component mating faces
Connect the tie-rod end ball joint.
Torque
M12: 76Nm
M14: 150Nm
- Tighten the tie-rod locking nut. Clean the component mating faces. Tighten the nut.
Torque: 55Nm
- Install the front wheel. Tighten the wheel nuts.
Torque: 140Nm
- Lower the vehicle.
- Using only four wheel alignment equipment approved by Land Rover, check and adjust the wheel alignment.
