REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Removal
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Specifications (414-00 Battery and Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

Raise the vehicle on the lift.WARNING:
Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
- Remove the front wheel and tire.

CAUTION:
Before disconnecting or removing the components, make sure the area around the joint faces and connections are clean. Plug open connections to prevent contamination.
Remove the power steering control valve actuator. Disconnect the electrical connector. Position a container to collect the fluid spillage. Remove and discard the 2 Torx screws. Remove and discard the 2 O-ring seals. Remove and discard the filter.NOTES:-
Note the fitted position.

Installation

Clean the component mating faces.CAUTION:
Make sure the working surfaces are thoroughly clean to avoid contamination of the sensitive hydraulic components.
- Install a new filter to the steering gear. Renew Part: Power steering control valve actuator kit Quantity: 1.
- Install new seals to the actuator.

Install the actuator. Tighten the new Torx screws evenly and progressively. Connect the electrical connector.NOTE:
Align to the position noted on removal.
Torque: 3Nm - Install the wheel and tire. Tighten the wheel nuts.Torque: 140Nm
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Specifications (414-00 Battery and Charging System - General Information, Specifications).
- Refill and bleed the power steering. Refer to: Power Steering System Filling and Bleeding (211-00 Steering System - General Information, General Procedures).
