Removal
NOTES:
  • If installing the front bushes, both front bushes must be installed.

  • If installing the rear bushes, both rear bushes must be installed.

  • Note orientation of the bush.

  • Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.


The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles

  1. Make sure that the tire pressures are correct and that the vehicle is at the correct ride height.
    Refer to: Ride Height Adjustments (204-05 Vehicle Dynamic Suspension, General Procedures).
  2. WARNING:

    Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.

    Remove the clips and trim for access to the lower arm camber bolts.

The following step(s) applies to:
Vehicles with dynamic suspension

  1. NOTE:

    Discard the nuts.

    Disconnect the front stabilizer bar links and rotate bar upwards to access lower arm bolts.

The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles

  1. Refer to: Lower Arm (204-01 Front Suspension, Removal and Installation).
  2. Secure lower arm in a suitable vice or similar to carry out the following steps.
  3. NOTE:

    Mark the new bush to aid correct orientation on installation.

    Mark alignment of original bush prior to removal.
  4. CAUTION:

    The bush flanges need to be removed to allow bush removal.

    Remove the lower arm front bushing flanges.
  5. CAUTION:

    Make sure correct alignment is maintained whilst carrying out the step.

    Using the special tools, remove the bush.
    Special Tool(s): 204-536-01, 204-598, 204-536/2
  6. NOTE:

    Mark the new bush to aid correct orientation on installation.

    Mark alignment of original bush prior to removal.
  7. CAUTION:

    Make sure correct alignment is maintained whilst carrying out the step.

    Using the special tools, remove the bush.

Installation

The following step(s) applies to:
Vehicles with dynamic suspension

  1. E154718
    Connect both stabilizer links to the stabilizer bar. Install and tighten new nuts.
    Torque: 115Nm

    Refit the trim.
  2. Carry out the wheel alignment procedure.
